Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes, chiropractic care is safe during pregnancy when performed by a provider with specific prenatal training. Does the chiropractor put pressure on my belly or uterus?

These are accessed through the lower back, hips, and sides of the pelvis. The adjustment itself is gentle and specific. Most patients describe it as pressure on the low back or hips, not the abdomen. What is the Webster Technique and how is Dr. Korrin’s approach different?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic protocol developed for prenatal patients. It focuses on balancing the sacrum and sacroiliac joints and reducing tension in the round ligaments and uterine support muscles. When these structures are restricted or carrying asymmetrical tension, the uterus cannot sit symmetrically within the pelvis — that asymmetry is what drives much of the SI joint pain, pelvic pressure, and fetal positioning difficulty that shows up in the second and third trimester. Dr. Korrin completed his Webster Technique certification through the ICPA, a separate credential from a general chiropractic license that requires training most chiropractors who see pregnant patients have not completed. Can a chiropractor help with pregnancy back pain and pelvic pain?
Yes, and the mechanism matters. Pregnancy back and pelvic pain is mechanical — it comes from the structural changes the body makes to accommodate a growing baby. The pelvis shifts, the lumbar curve deepens, ligaments loosen under the influence of relaxin, and load distributes differently across the spine with each trimester. Standard pain management during pregnancy is limited because most medications are off the table. Chiropractic addresses the mechanical source directly. At Vita Nova, Dr. Korrin uses Zone Technique to assess which of the six body zones are under nervous system interference and adjusts accordingly. For prenatal patients, the glandular zone(1) governing hormonal regulation, the nervous zone(3) mapping the sacral nerve roots, the muscular zone(5) tracking round ligament and piriformis tension, and the circulatory zone(6) are the zones most directly involved. The Webster Technique then addresses sacral alignment and soft tissue tension at the same visit. Most patients notice a change in hip mobility and sleep quality within the first two to three weeks of care.
When should I start prenatal chiropractic care?
The second trimester is the most efficient time to start, though care is appropriate at any stage of pregnancy. Early in the second trimester the body is adapting most actively — the round ligaments are newest in their tension pattern and the structural load has not yet compounded the way it does in the third trimester. Starting then gives Dr. Korrin the best opportunity to establish a structural baseline before the later stages of pregnancy add load on top of whatever asymmetry has already developed. That said, patients who come in during the third trimester still see meaningful improvement, and some come specifically for breech baby chiropractic care when fetal positioning becomes a concern closer to the due date. There is no trimester where care stops being useful — the body keeps changing through delivery.
How often will I need to come in during pregnancy?
Most prenatal patients at Vita Nova start with visits every two to three weeks in the second trimester, moving to weekly in the third trimester as the structural load increases and the body changes more rapidly. Some patients with significant SI joint instability or round ligament pain from early in the second trimester benefit from weekly visits from the start. Dr. Korrin reviews care frequency with every patient before they leave their first visit — based on what the Zone Technique assessment finds, which trimester they are in, and what their symptoms are telling him. He gives a real range, not a vague answer, because you need to plan your schedule.
