Zone Technique maintenance care for every life stage
Not every patient who comes through our door at Vita Nova is in pain. A good share of the practice is people who finished care for something specific and want to hold onto the progress, or people who have never had a real injury and just understand that the nervous system runs everything, so keeping it clear matters. Zone Technique works as well for staying ahead of problems as it does for treating ones that are already loud, because the interference patterns behind most symptoms build quietly for weeks or months before they turn into something you’d actually call a complaint.
A wellness visit isn’t built around chasing a sore spot. We check the nervous system across all six zones with Zone Technique, find where the disruption is actually coming from, and adjust there, whether that turns out to be a stressed low back or something further up the chain.
The visit starts with a short history: what’s changed since your last visit, sleep, stress, activity level. From there we move into the zone assessment across your whole body, not just the area that feels off, because a tight hip can trace back to tension in the upper cervical spine and the other way around. The adjustment itself is specific to whatever the assessment points to, not a routine full-spine pass.
The adjustment looks different depending on who’s on the table. A newborn gets pressure you’d use to check a tomato for ripeness, nothing more. A teen athlete gets more direct pressure through a joint that needs it. An adult managing day-to-day stress gets a visit built around whatever zone the assessment flags that week, not last month’s notes. Some visits are quiet, one or two zones need attention and we’re done in a few minutes. Others take longer. The goal is the same either way: find where your nervous system needs support before it turns into a bigger complaint.
The six-zone assessment that opens every Vita Nova visit doesn’t require a complaint to be useful. It identifies where mechanical interference is present in the nervous system regardless of whether that interference is currently producing symptoms. Patients on a maintenance schedule typically come in once or twice a month. At each visit, we assess all six zones and adjust wherever interference has re-established itself. Which zones and levels need attention changes over time and reflects what your nervous system has been under since your last visit: work demands, stress, physical activity, and sleep quality all show up in the Zone Technique assessment before they show up as symptoms.
There’s research behind this. In the Nordic Maintenance Care trial, patients with recurring low back pain who stayed on scheduled maintenance visits had about 13 fewer days of bothersome pain over a year than patients who only came in when symptoms flared.
For patients who have previously dealt with anxiety, sleep difficulty, or broader nervous system dysfunction, maintenance care is particularly useful, since the interference patterns behind those presentations tend to re-establish under sustained load. Catching them before they turn symptomatic again is the most efficient version of Zone Technique care.
Most maintenance patients come in once or twice a month, but the right frequency depends on what the exam shows that day, not on a package we’re trying to sell. A newborn just a few days old needs something completely different from a teenager who just started marching band or a mom in her second trimester, and nobody gets put on the same track just because it’s simpler for our schedule.
We’ll say plainly if it looks like time to space your visits out, or if it’s worth holding steady a bit longer. If you’re weighing this during pregnancy, our prenatal chiropractic care page walks through it in more detail. Frequency is a conversation, and it changes as your body changes.
A brand-new infant and a competitive high school athlete don’t need the same adjustment, but both benefit from someone checking whether the nervous system is firing the way it should. That’s the point of wellness and preventative care built around Zone Technique: it’s not one-size-fits-all.
For infants, we’re feeling for tension patterns left over from birth, using the lightest touch. For a pregnant patient, that often means Webster Technique work alongside Zone Technique, checking pelvic balance as your body shifts week to week. For a school-age kid, it’s usually posture habits from hours hunched over a tablet. For a teenager on a club sports team, it’s recovery and how well the body handles repeated impact. For adults, sometimes there’s no pain at all, just a want to catch something before it becomes a problem.
Wellness care at Vita Nova serves patients who have completed a care plan for a specific condition and want to maintain the results, adults with demanding professional or family lives who want to manage nervous system load proactively, athletes maintaining performance between seasons, families who brought a child in for pediatric care and want to maintain that as the child grows, and expecting mothers who want Zone Technique and Webster Technique care throughout pregnancy as ongoing support rather than for one specific complaint.
Every wellness visit follows the same structure, whether you’re pregnant, six years old, or fifty. Dr. Korrin is certified in both Zone Technique and Webster Technique through the ICPA, so one assessment framework covers every age, and only the pressure changes. You leave knowing exactly what we adjusted and why, not just that something happened.
Families drive in from Murphy, some from just past Mustang Park, and from the Richardson side for this same visit structure.
For wellness patients, a visit can just slot into the weekly routine, somewhere between a Saturday stop at Georgia’s Farmer’s Market on 15th Street and an evening class at the Murphy Community Center.
Wellness and preventative care is about checking in on the nervous system over time. It’s not built for a crisis. If your infant has a fever, is unusually lethargic, or isn’t feeding, that calls for a pediatrician first, full stop. The same goes for adults: a sudden, severe headache unlike any before it, spreading numbness, or loss of bladder control needs emergency medical attention right away. Chiropractic care doesn’t replace that, and we’d never suggest it should.
Any of those call for a medical provider or the emergency room, not a wellness visit. There’s also a quieter version of the wrong fit: some patients come in wanting a one-time adjustment to feel loose before a trip. That’s a fine goal, but wellness care works best as an ongoing rhythm, not a single visit. We’ll say so plainly at your first visit rather than let you assume otherwise.
We start with a short history: sleep, stress, and activity since your last visit. Then we check all six zones of your nervous system, not just the spot that feels tight, and give a specific, gentle adjustment where your body needs it that day. Some visits wrap up in a few minutes. Others take longer. Either way, you’ll leave knowing exactly what we found and what to watch for before your next visit.
It depends on what’s going on, so we won’t promise a timeline that isn’t true for you. Some patients feel looser within a day or two. Others, especially adults managing long-standing tension, need a few visits before things start to shift. We check your zones at every visit, and the plan adjusts based on what we see that day, not what happened last month.
Yes. Parking sits right outside our suite at 4065 E Plano Pkwy #230, so you won’t need to hunt for a spot before your visit. That matters more than people think, especially if you’re bringing a newborn, a stroller, or a teenager rushing over from practice.
It depends on what your exam shows, not a set schedule we hand out at the front desk. A newborn usually needs fewer visits once things settle. A pregnant patient often benefits from steadier care as the third trimester approaches. A teen in club sports might come in around their season. Adults managing ongoing tension usually start closer together, then space out as things stabilize. We’ll tell you when it looks like time to space out or hold steady.
Yes. Wellness care isn’t built around pain, it’s built around checking whether your nervous system is adapting well over time. For a newborn, that means pressure you’d use to check if a tomato is ripe, nothing more. For an adult with no complaints, it’s about catching a pattern before it turns into one. If you’re dealing with a fever, sudden severe symptoms, or anything that feels like an emergency, please call your doctor or go to the ER first, that’s not what this visit is for.

I just completed my 60 day experience with Dr. Korrin, and it has been amazing!! He works with your schedule, he listens to your feedback, and takes care with the service he provides. I was absolutely terrified of going to a chiropractor (fear of being accidently paralyzed), which I admited on day 1. He was very kind and didn't take offense and instead reassured me in the process. I've lived with extreme lower back pain for 18 years, after my epidural with my first child, I assumed there wasn't much that could done to alleviate the pain aside from the over the counter medications. I had so much relief after that first week and within the first month I found myself being able to sit cross legged on the floor for over an hour something I hadnt been able to do for more than 5 mins at a time. I feel great, and I plan to continue my visits! Thank you so much Dr. Korrin for all of you help!!!!

I truly can’t imagine going through my first pregnancy without regular chiropractic care from Dr. Korrin! His adjustments made such a huge difference in how comfortable I felt throughout pregnancy and helped keep the aches, pains, and discomforts minimal and manageable, even through a Texas summer! I genuinely feel like staying consistent with my chiropractic care helped my body stay in a great place leading up to birth. I was induced with my first baby and even went in for an adjustment on my way to the hospital. After my water broke, I went from 4.5 cm to fully dilated in less than 3 hours, pushed for about 16 minutes, and delivered our 8 lb 1 oz baby girl after just 6 pushes. I honestly don’t think my pregnancy and birth would have gone as smoothly as they did without Dr. Korrin’s help! I’m so thankful for Dr. Korrin’s care throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, and I know I’m in good hands with him caring for me, our baby, and our family moving forward. I truly can’t recommend him enough!!

Before treatment, I had lost hope in my mobility and truly believed I would end up wheelchair-bound due to osteopenia affecting one side of my body, osteoporosis affecting the other, along with vitamin deficiencies and many other ailments that made it difficult to see anything positive ahead. After years of hopelessness and feeling ready to give up, I finally found renewed hope and healing through Dr. Korrin’s compassionate care and unwavering support. I am and will forever be grateful for Dr. Korrin and the care I’ve received, as well as for the countless others who will have the pleasure of experiencing it too. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, I’ve regained movement, comfort, and a sense of my life back. This journey has helped me physically, mentally, and spiritually, and for the first time in a long time, I’m genuinely looking forward to the future. Although this is still a work in progress, I’ve already come so far. I’m now much more involved with my children and grandchild, with another little one on the way! I feel beyond blessed and thankful for the progress I’ve made and the hope I’ve regained. Thank you, Dr. Korrin, more than you know and more than words could ever express. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. God bless! MaryBeth (Mimi)

What you carried into that first visit, and what you are carrying now, are two very different things. The courage it takes to keep showing up when hope feels gone is something we do not take lightly, and watching you come back to yourself, to your children, to your grandchild, to the little one on the way, has been one of the greatest honors of this work. You did this. We are just grateful we got to be part of it. Thank you for trusting us with your care, God bless you! -Dr. KorrinPosted on Google![]()

Since my junior year of high school, i’ve been struggling with excruciating back pain due to an accident. With countless doctor’s appointments, medication, and physical therapy, nothing seemed to provide me any type of comfort. I was overwhelmed and broken not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally. However, just with one single appointment, I had immediate relief, more range of motion, and an abundance of hope that just maybe I won’t live life in pain like this forever. Throughout these past couple of weeks, I thank God that he joined me together with Dr. Korrin and used his gifts to impact my life in such a significant way. I can confidently say as I begin college this Friday, I will walk pain-free, with a forever praise that God is good. Thank you Dr. Korrin!

I’ve been seeing Dr Korrin on and off for several months. I really like his approach which is more integrated angle gentle than just cracking stuff. His schedule and availability are flexible and he’s helped me with a lot of things like really bad headaches and a fair amount of misalignments that my body is prone to.
